Hart’s War (2002)

Plot: Shortly before the end of World War II, young, bright-eyed, First-Lieutenant Thomas Hart, a third-generation desk-warrior, is stationed in an office miles away from any fighting. He meets the war only by accident and is taken prisoner. During interrogation, Hart faces a test of honor, courage, and sacrifice he had not prepared for. Surviving the interrogation, the horrified Hart witnesses courage and honor in the acts of his fellow-prisoners, who save him from certain death by sacrificing their belongings and even their own lives. At the POW camp, Hart learns that courage, sacrifice, and honor are much harder to find, as men become embittered in their captivity. Instead, fraternization, opportunism, and racism abound, ever-encouraged by the murderous Nazis, lead by a grounded Luftwaffe colonel; and mostly tolerated by the senior-ranking American colonel, in spite of his being a 4th-generation military offcer. Col. McNamara, mostly indifferent to the goings-on of his Americans, defiantly draws the line at racism, saluting even the Russian “Untermenschen” in the neighboring compound. But this line becomes much less distinct as two downed African-American pilots join him in the American compound. Suddenly, American racism manifests itself and escalates until one of the pilots is murdered, and the other is accused of murdering one of the racist conspirators. A law-student before the war, Hart is appointed by McNamara to “defend” the court-marshalled pilot, where Hart learns that McNamara has taken great pains to guarantee a verdict of “guilty” against the lone African-American. For many prisoners, the war would be over. For Hart, it has barely begun, as he fights to find within himself the courage and honor that seems to be completely lost within the camp, and only to be had among the dead and the condemned.

What are the differences between short & long run & how do you explain the neutrality of money in the long run
In the short-run money can influence real output and unemployment. However, in the long run, money is neutral to the real factors in the economy and just influences price level. Explain the differences in the short-run and long run and how do you explain the neutrality of money in the long run.

In the short run, the reason some inputs cannot vary is because of timing. For instance, if you have one factory producing an item, in the short-run, you cannot increase productivity beyond that factory’s production unless you buy a new factory, and since you can’t buy a new factory immediately, that is an unchangable input. The same as with crops. If the price of watermelons goes up very high, you can’t slash and burn your wheat crop, plant watermelons, and have them available immediately. Those things take months to change.

In the long-run, though, if you wanted to build or buy a new factory or buy more land for watermelons, you can. That is why there isn’t non-variable inputs with long-run.

Money, in the short-term, can substantiate some of variables for the input constraints, meaning, if you have money, you can "rent" more factory space or more fertilizers for your existing crops.

On that same note, it becomes neutral in the long-run because it really isn’t supposed to be used to hold your business afloat.

Now, as far as neutrality of money, it seems like you might be talking about the David Ricardo sense of the word "neutrality of money" that he talked about in "Principles of Political Economy and Taxation", where he states currency is only valuable in proportion to the quantity of labor necessary to produce it (he was mostly speaking of gold and silver).

His theory tended to relate mostly to the value of gold back around the 1600’s where the inflation grew very high since gold, which was very hard to mine and was very valuable, being "cheaper" by the ease of obtaining gold (piracy) and its (short-run)abundance.

In the long-run, there is a "neutrality" simply because the price of money (gold in his time) is not a cause in changes in productivity, but merely an effect of the change in the costs of productivity.

Is anyone else going to pee on a stick tomorrow?
I’m thinking of poas tomorrow, but I’m a little apprehensive. I’ll only be 10 dpo, and 13 months of ttc has taught me that I shouldn’t set myself up for that kind of disappointment. How do I get my dogs to stop being agressive at feeding time?
It’s mostly my girl dog. If there is food around and she sees it or wants it, she growls at the boy. They are bother and sister. Sometimes they even fight (not for long, but it’s scary). They are boxer-pit puppies, about 4 and a half months old and I don’t have the money for classes. I feed them in separate parts of the room, but they switch bowls a lot.

Especially when there is bones or treats involved. At night I give them bones and the boy will take both of them, or the girl will, and the other will bark all night long (or day, or just whenever) until i take them away. They growl at each other over the bones and sometimes fight.

I don’t want them to be aggressive at all. I’m saving to have them spayed and neutered ASAP, but it costs a lot and I don’t have enough yet.

What else can I do?

Simple principle. Make dog sit. Make dog stay. Put bowl down. If dog breaks sit, the dog misses dinner. When dog is able to sit and stay while bowls are on the floor in front of both of them, you can give a release command (I use okay) and they can then eat. You will need two people to begin this, so you each only have to watch one dog. I suggest keeping them both on a leash to start with.
This teaches your dogs that nothing belongs to them, and everything they get comes from you. If they do not do what you want, the resources are taken away. Dogs pick up on this logic very easily. Won’t take you long at all.
However, sit and stay require training-like in a class……

PLEASE HELP ME FIND SECONDARY SOURCE ABOUT SELF DEFENSE?!?!?!?

The Thin Line Between Love & Hate?
Okay, I met my high school sweetie at age 14, we dated until we turned 20, and he left me for another girl who he stayed with for 9 yrs.

We havent talked for 8 yrs. & Since then I’ve had a baby,
My daughter was diagnosed with Autism and Life has been a struggle. I myself have been single for 4 years and she is my life.

Recently, my X has popped back up and he broke it off with the Slutt Whore. The catch is, he began dating another girl for 2 years thinking he would never see me again. This other girl has 3 young children and she used to live with him.

Now that his 2 year fling is over we are back at it again.
But he finds it hard to deal with my babies disability at times. I personally dont feel she’s as difficult as the 3 kids from his past relationship. Should I be insulted? Should I leave him alone? Secondly, Im still hurt from our past anyways.
