What's the best approach to take when delaing with paranormal activity?
I have never believed in ‘ghosts’ or ‘paranormal activity’ my entire life. I actually kind of humored shows like ghost hunters and movies dealing with poltergeist; until last year. This all started one evening when an ex girlfriend and I came back from a trip visiting beaumont, tx. About an hour after we got home, I went into the kitchen to get something to snack on, when a toaster (sitting on a refrigerator rack on TOP of the refrigerator) abruptly went flying about 5 feet to the ground. *the feet of the toaster were also wedged in between the rack*. In shock, I yelled to my ex-girlfriend to come see what had happened. She thought I was joking and sat outside of my bedroom laughing at the matter when within 10 seconds a fan leaning 45 degrees against the wall IN my room was knocked over right in front of her. My second experience was after I moved out, a couple months later in a newer apartment, when my current girlfriend and a good friend were watching a show about quantum physics, discussing my paranormal activity over some drinks. We heard the refrigerator (in the kitchen about 10-15 ft away) open and close, and right after asking if they heard it, my kitten ran into the kitchen as if I were about to feed her. (I used to keep her food in the refrigerator if I only used half the can or what not)
I have had a couple of other questionable experiences, but until last night- We just moved again- I heard what sounded like maybe a 40-50 person running up and down maybe 4 or 5 stairs. The sound would never get much louder or lower; it was pretty persistant. I ignored it for about 5 minutes when all of a sudden I heard a cabinet slam shut downstairs (in the kitchen). My girlfriend jumped and turned to me grabbing me asking if I heard that, I replied yes. Within 2 seconds right after I turned over in bed, I was facing my cellphone which was knocked to the ground. It was sitting on my bedframe (which has yet to be set up) but after waking up this morning, I set my phone on it and kind of shook it just to test it’s stability and came to find it took a nice shaking to get knocked down. *the protective covering on the phone is almost non slip for most surfaces.
After doing some researching this morning, I found out the man that lived in the place where my first experience happened died about 3 or 4 months before the occurance. He actually died about 2 blocks away at Baton Rouge General Hospital. I have a Christmas card that was opened and took along with me to the second place. I am holding on to this until I speak with someone experienced with paranormal activity.

Eri - the toaster was thrown off of the top of the refrigerator rack a good 3 - 4 feet in front of my face. When my gf was laughing at me and I was throwing the toaster to the ground to show her how powerful it was, the fan in my room which was in front of her (she was in the hallway talking to me) was THROWN to the ground when it was leaning at about a 45 degree angle against the wall. As far as the refrigerator being open and closed, I, my girlfriend and friend richie heard it all at the same time. The cat coinscidentally heard the same thing and thought someone was at the refrigerator to feed it. *I investigated briefly last night and the sounds stopped when I left my bedroom, but I was honestly too scared to sit down there in the dark alone. I’ve debunked a couple of instances and always take everything into consideration. I am a programmer for a living, kind of hard to not be analytical.

Rory- This man was apparently involved with his church (he was a member of the catholic church) and I remember him receiving an awful amount of mail correlated with his church. I wouldn’t suspect him being evil in any way shape or form. From what my landlord said about him before his death, that he had a terminal illness and he was a very sweet man. I was raised catholic but did not confirm due to other beliefs. I don’t even own a bible. I will research further though being that I am starting to become very aggetated and just want a normal freaking life!
Red Baron- Do some quick research of Louisiana and Earthquakes. We don’t have many being there aren’t many fault lines around. I think the nearest fault line is in Arkansaw if I am not mistaking. I am a 27 year old male as far as age is concerned. Your advice to go see a counselor: There is 3 of us in that scenario. Last but not least, it seems as if you didn’t read my whole post being this has occured in the last 2 places I have lived not including the new place I just moved in. My next step is to just get proof so my co workers I have told about it will think I am sane as I say and hopefully help with paranormal activity investigations. I believe it is the man that lived in the 1st place of occurance. I have a recording studio with a high end condensor mic. I will hook this up this evening and see if I get anything. I just don’t want to ‘piss’ anything off more than it apparently is.

As for the toaster - did you check for mice or rats? Something dislodged it. Stuff falls over. Did you actually see the fridge open, or just hear a similar noise? Sounds you’re not checking up on what things could actually be and just assuming it’s paranormal instead. Weird noises happen. Go check it out next time. Billions of people have lived and died on Earth - people have died everywhere. That’s not proof of anything.

demons are mentioned many times in the Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth (BIBLE)..there are two types of demons, the aggressors and the tempter…"jesus says that when an evil spirit leaves a man it goes through dry arid places seeking rest and doesn’t find it",these are the aggressive demons..these are the demons who envy us for the love for our god and hate us because we are alive and they have died.the aggressive demons cannot inflict physical pain on us..you’ll know them by thier works…The cold chills,the feeling as if someones watching you in a dark or secluded rooms,noises or distant cries at night and furthermore..They posses human bodies because they wish to have or soul and take over. demons fear jesus and quiver to the thought of him.In the book of mathew,jesus encounters two men who were demon poss-ed, now these men were vile and very powerful with the evil spirit. when they saw jesus they said, o lord son of man what shall u do to us? have u come to destroy us before our appointed time? but jesus commanded them not speak and they obeyed. then jesus asked what are ur names,they responded and said, we are legion for we are many. they begged jesus to throw them into a herd of pigs and jesus told them to go. then the pigs became mad and ran into the sea and drowned…i had quit a few encounters with evil spirits. in the bible there is a chapter called pslams. read palms 23, that part in the bible calls down gods angels to come and remove the demons from your present. now when u say this say it with meaning..its not hypocricy….

1) There’s no evidence so far that anything happening is really paranormal. I’ve seen Richter Scale 4 earthquakes which knock things over, and nobody even felt them. You might want to look into that as a possibility as well.
2) Poltergeists are usually centered around women aged 9-23. This doesn’t mean they’re doing it on purpose, but you might want to look into the geology under your home: limestone and quartz deposits are common with the kind of activity you’re talking about.
3) Dead people don’t generally do what you’re talking about… and though there are lots of stories to the contrary, my own experience is that if anyone sees a dead person, there is not associated poltergeist activity unless it is surrounding a relationship with someone in the home (leading back to the person whose activity in general is linked to the occurrences at some emotional level… it really is unintentional, but treating the individual with psychological counseling almost always cures the disruption).
I can almost guarantee it’s not a ghost.

EDIT: I’m not Red Baron, but there are over 400 minor fault lines that run through the great state of Louisiana. There are also lots of limestone deposits.
I read all of what you wrote, but again it’s still something you should consider, since it’s just the way that my own experience has shown. When the person with the extreme personal emotions and a personal issue gets their issues taken care of, the activity will decrease if it doesn’t go away completely.

Gregry,well I read your whole post and this is what I suggest that you do,grab a video camera and set it up and let it run,snap some photos with a digital camera as well,get a digital tape recorder and run it and ask some questions,such is there a spirit present with me,what if your name and why are you here,play back the tape and see if you have any intelligent responses on it.Sometimes spirits will attach themselves to a person and follow them when ever they move.I don’t doubt what you are saying,I am only trying to give you suggestions to collect any evidence.Try to notice if you feel a temperature change in the room such as cold spots,this is when the entity is manifesting it’s self,hope this is of some help,this is the way to get to the bottom of what is occurring.If you need more help or come up with any findings,please come back to this section and share them with me.I’ve had several paranormal experiences over my life time.My belief is we live in the physical world but a spiritual world exists as well,hope this helps,Tomb Raider.
