can you appeal against getting the fine and 3 points from a traffic light camera?
my car broke down and i was being towed home through the city center. the car who was towing me went through the amber light but when i went through it was definitely a red light. i had no choice i had to go through it. would i still get the fine and points for that. can i appeal it. i didnt get the letter yet it just happen yesterday but the light was definitely red and there is a camera there so i am expecting a letter to come.
if it did took a picture it will show that both cars had the hazzard lights on because there was towing
Well the camera never lies unless there is no film in it. But you could try and appeal as it was the person driving the front car that was responsible for stopping.

Conceivably whoever checks will realise what happened and you will not get a letter.
If you do you can appeal, as far as I know you have to request the photo and then point out to them the error of their ways. Various authorities have different procedures of appeal and your letter if you get one should outline these procedures for you.

This sounds like a bit of a grey area, i.e. there are reasons why you went through a red light, but I am not sure you would win the case. If and when you get the ticket, query it with the local council that sent you the ticket. They may argue that the person towing you should have stopped at amber lights, knowing they were towing another car that would have gone through a red light. If you don’t get off, maybe you need to talk to the person who towed you, and make them 50% responsible for the fine? Not easy, especially if it is a friend, but at the same time, they should have had their wits about them when towing you, and foreseeing things like that.

if you were being towed legally the tower is at fault. the questiion then arises as to whether you were being towed legally. most states have stingent laws about towing these days. you must be using approved towing devices, just like towing a trailer or anything. you are usually not supposed to be in the car being towed.

You can appeal as the other answers state. However, you should not have your hazard lights on when being towed. What would happen if you wanted to turn left or right?

The area of the camera picture is deliberately limited to make this sort of appeal impossible and it may cost you more than it is worth because you will not get your costs back. this slimy bunch has got you by the short and curlies when they screw money out of you to waste on MPs
