I just lost my first case as a crown prosecutor, a rapist came free… I feel ashamed, guilty and worthless?

Don’t say that, you are good enough. Why would the witness not testify? Also, don’t you worry, if he raped six women he will rape again and he will eventually be caught. What happened to the other 5 victims, why did they not testify?

Rape cases are tough, especially when the victims are afraid to talk or testify. Also, women feel victimized all over again by the system. You know first of all they are raped, and then they have to get up in court and tell about it all over again, it is like reliving the crime. I am sure you will have many other cases that you will win.

What's the best approach to take when delaing with paranormal activity?
I have never believed in ‘ghosts’ or ‘paranormal activity’ my entire life. I actually kind of humored shows like ghost hunters and movies dealing with poltergeist; until last year. This all started one evening when an ex girlfriend and I came back from a trip visiting beaumont, tx. About an hour after we got home, I went into the kitchen to get something to snack on, when a toaster (sitting on a refrigerator rack on TOP of the refrigerator) abruptly went flying about 5 feet to the ground. *the feet of the toaster were also wedged in between the rack*. In shock, I yelled to my ex-girlfriend to come see what had happened. She thought I was joking and sat outside of my bedroom laughing at the matter when within 10 seconds a fan leaning 45 degrees against the wall IN my room was knocked over right in front of her. My second experience was after I moved out, a couple months later in a newer apartment, when my current girlfriend and a good friend were watching a show about quantum physics, discussing my paranormal activity over some drinks. We heard the refrigerator (in the kitchen about 10-15 ft away) open and close, and right after asking if they heard it, my kitten ran into the kitchen as if I were about to feed her. (I used to keep her food in the refrigerator if I only used half the can or what not)

I have had a couple of other questionable experiences, but until last night- We just moved again- I heard what sounded like maybe a 40-50 person running up and down maybe 4 or 5 stairs. The sound would never get much louder or lower; it was pretty persistant. I ignored it for about 5 minutes when all of a sudden I heard a cabinet slam shut downstairs (in the kitchen). My girlfriend jumped and turned to me grabbing me asking if I heard that, I replied yes. Within 2 seconds right after I turned over in bed, I was facing my cellphone which was knocked to the ground. It was sitting on my bedframe (which has yet to be set up) but after waking up this morning, I set my phone on it and kind of shook it just to test it’s stability and came to find it took a nice shaking to get knocked down. *the protective covering on the phone is almost non slip for most surfaces.

After doing some researching this morning, I found out the man that lived in the place where my first experience happened died about 3 or 4 months before the occurance. He actually died about 2 blocks away at Baton Rouge General Hospital. I have a Christmas card that was opened and took along with me to the second place. I am holding on to this until I speak with someone experienced with paranormal activity.

Rory- This man was apparently involved with his church (he was a member of the catholic church) and I remember him receiving an awful amount of mail correlated with his church. I wouldn’t suspect him being evil in any way shape or form. From what my landlord said about him before his death, that he had a terminal illness and he was a very sweet man. I was raised catholic but did not confirm due to other beliefs. I don’t even own a bible. I will research further though being that I am starting to become very aggetated and just want a normal freaking life!
Red Baron- Do some quick research of Louisiana and Earthquakes. We don’t have many being there aren’t many fault lines around. I think the nearest fault line is in Arkansaw if I am not mistaking. I am a 27 year old male as far as age is concerned. Your advice to go see a counselor: There is 3 of us in that scenario. Last but not least, it seems as if you didn’t read my whole post being this has occured in the last 2 places I have lived not including the new place I just moved in. My next step is to just get proof so my co workers I have told about it will think I am sane as I say and hopefully help with paranormal activity investigations. I believe it is the man that lived in the 1st place of occurance. I have a recording studio with a high end condensor mic. I will hook this up this evening and see if I get anything. I just don’t want to ‘piss’ anything off more than it apparently is.

Sounds you’re not checking up on what things could actually be and just assuming it’s paranormal instead. Weird noises happen. Go check it out next time. 1) There’s no evidence so far that anything happening is really paranormal. I’ve seen Richter Scale 4 earthquakes which knock things over, and nobody even felt them. You might want to look into that as a possibility as well.

2) Poltergeists are usually centered around women aged 9-23. This doesn’t mean they’re doing it on purpose, but you might want to look into the geology under your home: limestone and quartz deposits are common with the kind of activity you’re talking about.

3) Dead people don’t generally do what you’re talking about… and though there are lots of stories to the contrary, my own experience is that if anyone sees a dead person, there is not associated poltergeist activity unless it is surrounding a relationship with someone in the home (leading back to the person whose activity in general is linked to the occurrences at some emotional level… it really is unintentional, but treating the individual with psychological counseling almost always cures the disruption).

I can almost guarantee it’s not a ghost.

God's forgiveness and my forgiveness?
My parents are really loving and caring. But sometimes they don’t give me enough freedom and as a result, I feel a lot of anger towards them. Even though they care for me a lot, I still feel angry with them and as a result, I feel guilty. I always bad mouth them to my friends(behind my parents’ back ofcourse). I am NOT proud of this. I feel really guilty. Yesterday, I took a decision not to bad-mouth them anymore, but today I did. Only after I did that, did I start feeling guilty. surely He will and you only have to repent. Now that you have as you stated, you must try hard to overcome the habit of speaking this way about your parents. It has become a habit with you and habits are generally kind of hard to break.

when you feel the urge to speak that way about them, think of how sad you would be if they were in failing health and could not help you or themselves. that would change your life and theirs. I know it is severe, but it may help to discipline your tongue and thoughts. You are doing the right thing and it may not come over night. Keep praying and trying. you can also try to replace a bad thing you were going to say with a sweet or loving thing about them, try it as an exercise in your mind, couldnt hurt to try. You are doing good, don’t kick yourself so much. You can overcome it, I felt that way about my parents as a youth at times, it is not probably uncommon. the reason you feel guilty is because God/your conscious is telling what you are doing is wrong, you know in your mind and in your heart your parets are loving and caring….

Think if you had a child and that child did something wrong and then apologized to you and cried to you and begged you not to be mad…….you forgive the child, hold them…..but the child continues to look sad and depressed feeling you are still mad at them……….this is how God feels He doesn’t want us to hurt!!! He just wants us to know right from wrong…….you are forgiven the second you ask if you truly mean it……

Talk to God like He is your best friend, because HE IS!!…

I’m assuming you are Christian, so you are under God’s grace. That doesn’t mean you can do what you want, but that you need to seek God’s will for your life. Pray and ask God’s forgiveness for your life and do this with a repentant heart — seeking seriously not to do the wrong things again. God is love, and so you need to focus on that. Christianity is about faith for sure, a trust, but with love too. This takes a maturity. This isn’t just a head thing, a knowing, but also a heart thing — a willingness to love and commit to God eternally. The most important factors I’m learning are faith, love, peace, hope, friendliness, caring, giving. and meekness, plus obedience. God is our Creator, all-knowing, all-powerful, eternal, holy, love. Mostly, God is love and He wants us to be love too and become like Jesus Christ, which takes obedience and faith that He can help us succeed to do His will. Our will needs to be yielded to His will. We need to accept Jesus into our life as our Lord and Savior forever to receive God’s blessing and forgiveness plus go to heaven. Having Jesus in your life means changing your life to accept His leadership — thus He is your Lord, and not just your Savior. He wants to change us to be more like Him. The more we love God, the more we can commit and be obedient. Spiritual maturity comes as we realize that life isn’t all about us. Most important is loving and helping God and others. I’m Lutheran and I like the Baptist churches too. Ways to stay on the project are going to church, reading the Bible daily, and daily prayer as needed. Some churches do a weekly Bible study group and these can be a good way to get committed to read the Bible often and keep going. Make friends with your parents. Let God guide you. God bless.

He will go on trying to persuade you that you are beyond God’s forgiveness. If so, then do as Jesus did — combat him with the Sword of the Spirit — one of the many verses in Scripture which speak of God’s forgiveness of those who repent. I was really amazed by your question.
It set my mind racing,
I will share a little secret with you.
I am atheist, and have been long before you were born.
So I know there is no God.
But I do feel guilt now , later in life, not about any sins against religion, but certainly about things I have done in the past, nothing to do with any God!
The thing that amazed me by your question was the obvious fact that you think a God would cure your behaviour and forgive your ’sins’.
Now just think about this a bit:-
If you are truly on a religion ‘fix’ and you go to your religion leader, then depending upon the religion you have been taught to follow you will be forgiven.
Can you really believe this?
Or if you are not a member of that particular faith then you will burn in hell. Complicated isn’t it?
In fact it is all rubbish.
Try to work it out on your own, you do not need religion to get in the way, good luck with that.

When God says that He will forgive us from our sins , we must believe God at His Word. His Word is true and God cannot lie.
When we don’t forgive ourselves, this is being self righteous and God is convicting us of our self righteous thoughts and actions.
If a person is truly Born Again by the Spirit of God and God is their Lord and Saviour, then when God says He will forgive those who beg forgiveness, we must believe Him. In faith and in obedience to His Word.

You make yourself out to be more righteous than God and this can never be.
We are so full of sin and that which we want to do which is right and good, we find ourselves not doing, because of our sinful natures.
God looks upon the heart of mankind and He knows who is sincere with their words from their hearts.
He knows who has true saving faith and who has not, because it is God Himself who gives this as a gift to those who will turn to Him in fear and trembling.

A few questions about the US Marine Corps Reserves?
1. About how many deployments should an Infantry Marine in the Reserves expect with a 4 year contract? (How about a 5 year contract? and a 6 year contract?)

2. How hard is it to get one of the following MOS when enlisting in the reserves in Southern California? (0311 Rifleman, 0313 LAV Crewman, and 0331 Machine Gunner)
Also I know it is hard to tell how many deployments but if you could give me an average that would be great.

It’s impossible to tell how many deployments you should expect in a 4 year enlistment, but assuming that you complete basic and SOI within 6 months, you should bet that you will see at least two within 4 years. But, that being said, it all depends on the nations needs.

As far as how hard is it to get the MOS of 0311/0313/0331; they should be fairly easy, especially 0311 and 0331. 0313 depends on what reserve unit you would be reporting too, but basic infantrymen and machine gunners are a dime a dozen.

My advice, score high on the ASVAB and shoot for a better MOS; something that you can use in the real world.
